The experience

The Borghese Gallery holds one of the most remarkable private collections ever assembled, displayed in the villa built for Cardinal Scipione Borghese. Our concierge secures timed entry and pairs you with an art historian who knows the rooms well. Inside, Bernini's Apollo and Daphne and The Rape of Proserpina seem to move in marble, a single room gathers several of Caravaggio's paintings, and Canova's reclining Pauline Borghese rests on the ground floor. Visits run in set time slots, which keeps the rooms calm and the viewing unhurried. Afterwards, the gardens of Villa Borghese are a short walk away, with the lake and its small temple a lovely place to linger.
