What to know about Sperlonga

Sperlonga is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia, the association of Italy's most beautiful villages.
Its beaches of Ponente, Lago Lungo, Levante and Bazzano fly the Blue Flag in 2026.
On the coast road stand the remains of the Villa of Tiberius, found in 1957, and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, with the sculpture groups of Scylla and of the blinding of Polyphemus.
In the old town stands the church of Santa Maria di Spelonca, from the 12th century; by the sea, the Torre Truglia, built in 1532 on a Roman tower.

Getting to Sperlonga

The nearest station is Fondi-Sperlonga, on the Rome–Naples line: direct regional trains take a little over an hour from Roma Termini and about an hour and a half from Napoli Centrale.
A local bus links Fondi-Sperlonga station with the village.
Ferries to Ponza sail from Formia all year round, and from Terracina.
