The experience
South of the city walls, Rome opens into a green landscape of pines, ruins and open fields. On a quality e-bike arranged by our concierge, with a local guide, you ride out along the Via Appia Antica, where Roman paving stones still run between tombs and villas. The route passes the Circus of Maxentius and the Tomb of Caecilia Metella before turning across the countryside to the Park of the Aqueducts, where the arches of Roman aqueducts cross the meadows. Pedal assistance makes the distance comfortable for most guests, and the pace leaves time for photographs and a pause in the shade. A stop at a catacomb can be added on request.
